This year’s Peckham Festival is just around the corner – here are our top picks from the weekend’s events.
Here at Peckham Levels, we’re really proud to be part of the thriving, dynamic creative community here in SE15. Our whole project was set up to provide a space for young creative businesses to thrive, and it’s amazing to be situated at the heart of an area so full of talent and energy.
Which is why we’re so excited for this weekend’s Peckham Festival – a 3-day extravaganza of events and experiences designed to celebrate everything (and everyone) that makes Peckham great. This is the Festival’s 3rd year, and it looks set to be an absolute blinder of a weekend. Here, we’ve picked our 5 top things to do in Peckham this weekend.
1.Get an inside look at how it’s made – Open Studios – Friday 14th, Saturday 15th, Sunday 16th September (check website for times).
We know full well that “People make Peckham” but if you’re interested in what it is those Peckham people are making, then this is your chance!
Across the whole of Peckham artists and creatives are throwing open their doors to the general public. Some will even be holding workshops and talks so you can get some hands on experience. Check the website for full listings and details.
2. Get Top Tips on starting a career in Fashion with Inside the Industry – Female Creatives Talk All Things Fashion – Saturday 15th September, 2 pm, Peckham Levels Auditorium
If you’re interested in working in fashion, or more broadly how you can get involved in the creative industries, then come and meet our panellists. They’re all busy being high-powered creative-types in the fashion industry and are coming to Peckham Levels to share their experiences with you.
This free event will feature speakers who not only work for some of the biggest fashion brands, but who are also juggling exciting creative side projects.
3. Foals DJ Set – Friday 14th September, 8 pm, The Social Stage
Foals’ fifth studio album, coming out in 2019, was recorded right here in Peckham, and so this is an amazing opportunity to see a one-off DJ set on the opening night of the festival.
4. DIY Art Market – Friday and Saturday, 12 – 6 pm, Peckham Levels (Level 5)
Over 40 makers and artists will be taking over Level 5 here at Peckham Levels, selling everything from zines to jewellery. Come along to shop til you drop!
5. Sake Brewery & Taproom Launch – Friday, Saturday and Sunday (check website for timings)
Sake is fast becoming a bit of a ‘thing’ in the booze scene, and we’re incredibly excited that Peckham is getting its own sake brewery and taproom! In fact, it’s not only Peckham’s first – it’s the UK’s first and only sake brewery!
Join the team for the launch of their new site, and learn a bit more about this amazing drink, which (you’ll be glad to know) is vegan, sulphite-free, gluten-free and contains no additives or preservatives!
This year’s Peckham Festival is made up of hundreds of events and we’ve only just scratched the surface here. Don’t miss out on the amazing experiences and events on offer – visit the website by clicking below for the full listing!
