A new screen printing studio is on the way

3rd Rail Print Space is set to launch on Level 1 of Peckham Levels in January 2018. Here’s what you can expect and how you can get involved.

In short 3rd Rail Print Space will be London’s largest open access screen printing facility, the second venture from the guys behind South London’s renowned 3rd Rail Clothing. The 4000sqft unit will combine paper, fabric and t-shirt printing along with desk and private studio spaces.

“Our dream is to build a comprehensive print hub and modern learning environment capable of facilitating everyone from curious novices to seasoned print professionals.”

The reason the team are setting up the space is simple: “We love screen printing but it’s not the most accessible medium often requiring a whole range of specialist equipment to achieve a professional finish. 3rd Rail have been operating as a commercial studio for over 10 years but we started out renting a t-shirt carousel in an open access studio. We would love to offer a new wave of creatives the same opportunity.”

It’ll be opening up next year with a whole heap of brand new screen printing equipment, desk spaces and even private studios. You’ll be able to join with a monthly membership that’ll give you 50 hours of printing time; or just come along for workshops and classes to get up to speed with you screenprinting skills!

To make it all happen, they running a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. If you want to back the time is now, as tomorrow is the last day to get involved!! From pledging £25 in return for one of their collaborative t-

shirts from artists such as Mr. Penfold and Killer Acid to £60, £80, £200 and up for screen printing workshops and special offers as well as studio spaces and memberships for those bigger contributions.

But if you can’t wait until January to meet the team come and say hello at one our upcoming events and workshops. During our launch weekend the team offered free

screening printing tutorials, pull your own print t-shirts and tote bags and will be on hand this New Years Eve for kids and adults live screen printing.

Check out what’s up for grabs via their Kickstarter. We already can’t wait to kick start

our New Years Resolution, do more Screen Printing!

Following the government’s latest advice on COVID19, it is with a heavy heart that in addition to fully closing our doors to the public, your local food traders will now be ceasing all food deliveries until further notice.

This is a difficult time for many, including our project and the 162 small, independent & incredible businesses who call Peckham Levels home. We will be looking at ways in which we can continue to give them the platform they need during this uncertain period. By following us on our socials or signing up to our newsletter, we can collectively look at ways to support Members and local traders.

We will provide updates as soon as we can.

Much love,

Peckham Levels Team x
