Join Wingkei, Kelly, and model Jess for an unforgettable life drawing experience, run by all ESEA Women.
This relaxed, untutored workshop is suitable for all levels, including complete beginners. This event is part of ESEA (East and South-East Asian) Heritage Month, which is a month-long programme of exciting events organised by besea.n, championing ESEA creatives. Our goal is to provide ESEA representation in body expression, and a fresh take on what life drawing can be. We hope our artists can nurture their creativity with others, and socialise within an informal environment.
You will be exploring the power of body expression and vulnerability. This workshop offers a space where the body of the ESEA Woman that’s often seen as taboo within their own culture, yet fetishised outside of their culture, will be reclaimed as strong and human. Our model Jess will be nestled in celebrated objects from various ESEA cultures, such as silks, vases, and flowers. Expect simple and elegant poses!
Paper and materials will be provided, though please bring your own if there are specific mediums you prefer.
