We are looking for a Senior Membership & Partnerships Manager at Peckham Levels.

Role: Senior Membership & Partnerships Manager

Location: Based at Peckham Levels – with one day remote working if desired

Hours: 40 hours over 5 days per week, usual hours 9am-6pm Monday – Friday.

Peckham Levels is home to seven floors housing over 100 local and independent businesses. We are home to entrepreneurs and creatives of all industries; from TV production to jewellery designers, architects, social enterprises, screen printers, ceramicists, and street food vendors, bars and event spaces.

Peckham Levels was founded by a team of socially minded creators, makers, entrepreneurs and doers who champion collaboration, drive progress and see it as their duty to bring prosperity to local communities through enterprise.


About The Role

As Membership & Engagement & Partnership Manager, you will be the integral link between Peckham Levels, its Members, local service providers and local people. You will ensure that every Member and stakeholder has the best possible experience in its interactions with Peckham Levels.

You will work on the ground to nurture relationships, both initiating and sharing information on programmes, initiatives and activities which could benefit our Members and the wider local community. Building trust and rapport with Members and key stakeholders and facilitating their involvement in the project will help us cement our foundations in the area we work in and ensure that we continue to deliver positive and meaningful outcomes for local people and businesses for years to come. 

We are looking for someone with Proven experience as a Membership and/or Community/Engagement Manager, preferably in a diverse and fast-paced environment.  You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be adept at building relationships, and able to professionally manage complex and sometimes challenging situations.

Duties and Responsibilities

SITE AMBASSADOR & INVOLVEMENT

  • Be the walking, talking, face of Peckham Levels on site with an active interest in community life.
  • Raise awareness of project aims and celebrate the achievements and positive work with Members and the wider local community.
  • Ongoing research of local needs, through consultation, involving local people and providers in identifying and tailoring practical solutions to those needs.
  • Establish exciting opportunities for involvement with the Member community so that our projects adapt with time, and remain fresh and exciting.

EXTERNAL PARTNERSHIPS & NETWORKS

  • Continuously seek and develop relations with key stakeholders including councillors, council officers and local organisations. 
  • Initially set out to weave networks e.g. connecting community members, fostering relationships, organising events, and facilitating collaborations. 
  • Develop a strategy for how and when Peckham Levels will transition from network weaving to facilitating the networks on site.
  • Project manage external service providers and consultants where specific activities and services have been commissioned.

MEMBERS

  • Develop and oversee an events programme which fosters connections between Members and develops a strong sense of community.
  • Develop opportunities for Members to make a positive social impact within the wider Peckham community as part of the Community Investment Scheme.
  • In conjunction with the Events and Activations Manager and General Manager, establish exciting opportunities for further involvement with Peckham Levels, e.g. commissions, markets or workshop opportunities.
  • Work with the Lettings Manager and GM on interviewing and selection to ensure we recruit the right Members into the project.  Organise regular check-ins with key Members to build relationships and understand needs and share key insights with the wider Peckham Levels team.
  • Work with the wider Peckham Levels site team and GM to develop systems which ensure a smooth experience for Members at Peckham Levels, understanding the pain points across the Membership journey and suggesting effective solutions.
  • Oversee the maintenance and management of the CRM system.

COMMUNICATIONS

  • Working with the M&P co-ordinator and Site Team, manage communications to Members to ensure clarity and consistency across all channels, and develop a communications plan that really engages Members with the Peckham Levels project.
  • Delivery of external comms and reporting to clearly communicate the positive benefits of the project and drive positive sentiment.

SIGNPOSTING & CONNECTING

  • Undertake lead generation throughout your networks, signposting relevant connections to the Lettings Manager or Events and Activations Manager when appropriate. 
  • Map all the opportunities in the local area being provided externally and stay abreast of developments. 
  • Actively engage hard to reach local groups with the project.
  • Use your knowledge of this network of local services and organisations to signpost local people to opportunities.
  • Establish links and work closely with local providers to maximise opportunities for referrals, joint working and shared resources.

PROJECT GOVERNANCE & REPORTING

  • Organise and facilitate the quarterly Steering Group meetings with the Peckham Levels team and local stakeholders. 
  • Use the defined project KPIs to commission a social benchmarking framework that aims to capture and monitor data over the lifetime of the project.
  • Oversee the compilation of quarterly reports, sharing information and analysis with the senior team and Steering Group, and setting strategic direction for your team in the following quarter based on these results.

LINE MANAGEMENT

  • Line manage the Membership & Partnerships coordinator, including day-to-day management, having oversight of routine tasks, and delegating work effectively.
  • Undertaking regular reviews with the M&P coordinator, setting objectives and development planning.


Experience:

Instilling positive sentiment within a community.

Fostering well connected networks to include: Community of Members, local partners and local people representing different community interests. 

Using your knowledge of local organisations, programmes and services to signpost and connect local people to valuable opportunities.

Bringing Members and local stakeholders into the frame to effectively govern projects and monitoring the social outputs.


Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Membership and/or Community/Engagement Manager
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working with a CRM system
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
