UNIT 418: The Movement Factory
The Movement Factory is a community social enterprise that uses dance to create positive change and cohesion in London's deprived areas.
Founded by Leanne Pero in 2001, it has engaged over 500,000 young people using unique methods of teaching and delivery to develop physical and mental wellbeing. The organisation offers a safe community space to break negative cycles and help individuals achieve their aspirations.
The mental health crisis among young people prompted The Movement Factory to develop tailored programs for emotional development, including Elevate and Nourish.
