Long-time friends and collaborators Hector Plimmer and B. Hawksley join us for an evening of in-the-round performances to celebrate each of their respective new releases.

Renowned South London producer, drummer, DJ, and graphic artist Hector Plimmer celebrates the release of his new record "Infinity Mirrors" this year. Written, developed and reworked over the five years since his last LP, his new album explores a wide breadth of human experiences, from recognising love and yearning for loved ones far away, to tackling anxiety and learning to focus on the things that matter. It features an abundance of South London musical talent, including B. Hawksley herself, as well as the likes of Laura Misch, Andrew Ashong, Julia Biel, Tawiah and Marysia Osu.

Meanwhile B. Hawksley’s debut EP “I’ll Be Your Mirror” is her first collection of original music released after years of writing and featuring for other artists under alias Alexa Harley.

Expect an evening of darkly cinematic sounds alongside more upbeat, groove-heavy tracks and moments like a lullaby, made to sooth. These live performances will take listeners on a refreshing journey of slowly morphing sounds, progressing into a moving body of interweaving melodies and rhythms.

About Hector Plimmer:

Since the release of his debut album in 2017, Hector Plimmer has steadily built a career bridging musical worlds and genres, from beats to jazz, broken beat, house, and techno. His music has been championed by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Benji B, Lauren Laverne, Mary Anne Hobbs, Huey Morgan, Don Letts and Tom Ravenscroft, playlisted by BBC 6Music and supported by Mixmag, Resident Advisor, Crack, Hyponik, Fact and Stamp The Wax. The demand for his talents has also turned him into a prolific remixer, reworking tracks for household names such as Morcheeba and Red Snapper, and rising stars Oscar Jerome and Yazz Ahmed.

Hector Plimmer has collaborated on eclectic projects with the likes of Ego Ella May, Andrew Ashong, The London Symphony Orchestra, Emma-Jean Thackray, alongside his long-time collaborator, the late Matt Gordon. On stage, he has performed at Glastonbury, The Great Escape, Brainchild and London’s Jazz Café and more recently performed a special AI-centred show with Ben Hayes, closing a week-long residency at the Southbank’s Purcell Rooms. The latter was rated so highly by none-other-than Grace Jones, she requested the show be repeated at her long-postponed Meltdown Festival. As a DJ, Hector has been featured on ‘The Lab’ for Mixmag, and played for dancefloors alongside the likes of Gilles Peterson, Kutmah, Alexander Nut, MNDSGN, Onra, Dego, Kaidi Tatham.

About B. Hawksley:

In defining her sound, inspiration from across B. Hawksley’s life and relationships can be heard clearly. Songwriters like Jeff Buckley, Elliot Smith, Julia Jacklin, and Fleetwood Mac, to Greg Mendez, Jenny Lewis and Andy Shauf, provide a strong foundation from which she takes inspiration and projects her own musicality.

The “I’ll Be Your Mirror” EP explores themes of love from all angles; for the friends, family members and partners, in their successes and their faults. The release was produced by Alex Parish and earns its reflective name as B. Hawksley examines the role she plays in relationships and how that impacts those around her.

Under her Alexa Harley alias, B. Hawksley has provided topline vocals for drum and bass heavyweights including Hybrid Minds, Monrroe, Deadline and more, alongside features for the likes of Tom Misch, WEI, jacuzzi jefferson, poolsideconvo, El Train, and long-time friend and collaborator Hector Plimmer.
