VOICES OF EXPERIENCE: BREAKING MENTAL HEALTH STIGMA

  • Peckham Levels 95A Rye Lane London, England, SE15 4ST United Kingdom (map)

Date: Friday 16 May

Times: 6pm - 8pm

Access: There is step-free access via a lift

Join us at Peckham Levels for a showcase of powerful creative expressions from individuals drawing on their lived experience of mental health and wellbeing.

Held during Mental Health Awareness Week, this interactive event will feature a range of creative expressions, including poetry, artwork and performances, alongside a set of co-created zines developed by lived experience experts, Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) consultants, researchers and postgraduate students at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN). Together, they have developed three bold and thought-provoking zines exploring mental health, diagnosis, stigma and spirituality.

Expect an evening of engaging talks, open conversations and artistic expression in a relaxed setting with drinks and nibbles. Whether you have lived experience, work in mental health, or are simply curious to learn more, this is a space for you.

The event is hosted by the Psychosis and Mood Disorders theme and the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement core programme at the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre.
